Tinker the 500D

Posted by Rochefort Schubaltz [www]

Getting to know my new camera, the Canon 500D ( Rebel T1i ). So far from what i have observed is that there's a certain mix in aperture + shutter that allows it to capture images in great quality while retaining the low ISO settings ( 100 , 200, 400 ). So far here are the results.

Images consists of my new arrival, favorite loli, Nanoha and the ever so high and mighty Drossel Ojou-sama.

As what you can see some images do have a bit of blur in them. Must get to know the camera more to lessen the mistakes.

Based on observations i think the shutter speed is too low. Still trying to know each toothpick anyways but all i can say is that were getting there ^_^

based on what little exp i had with my semi pro, any shutter speed less than 1/30 is too slow for me (cause i have shaky hands) and in indoor situations expect a relatively high iso =/

Great!! I've had countless hours of time trying to learn how to use my Canon F1 SLR. You'll catch up pretty soon.

    Grats on the new camera!
That's a nice start. I do see some camera shake. Some tips that might help you are to use AV (Aperture Value/Priority)Mode and set it to the lowest f-stop your lens will allow you to use. I'm guessing it's most likely 3.5 if its a kit lens. This way you just choose what f-stop you want (for the depth of Field) and the camera will set the shutter speed for you.

You might also want to look into a tabletop tripod. This will allow you to not worry about slow shutter speeds when you are photographing still lifes such as figures.

    Have fun shooting!
