Frijolito's OTACOOL Room
I finally got my stuff together to share a piece of me with you guys!
Name: Julio Ruiz. I've acquired the nickname "Frijolito" through my lovely friends XD
Age: 25
Nationality: American - I live in North Carolina ( Monroe to be exact)
How many years you have been an otaku: I've been an anime fan for 14 years now. Started with some VHS tapes of Tenchi Muyo and plenty of Toonami. It wasn't till Gundam Wing that I discovered that stores actually sold anime ( R.I.P. Media Play). From there I stumbled into manga with Love Hina and Oh My Goddess and the like and have been collecting ever since. It wasn't till 4 years ago that I started collecting figures. I soon found my self blowing 1k within the first 3 months of working! I knew then this wasn't a good sign--- oh well!
Outline of your collection: I have around 54 figures; many artbooks- many of which are of the Range Murata or My Otome kind. Around 120 manga, and I don't even want to count my dvd's XD
How much your collection cost: I'd say around $10,000 roughly, don't really want to think about it heh
Your Favorite item: It would definitely be my Kotobukiya Belldandy figure - I had it signed by Kikuko Inoue back when she came to Animazement in 2007.
Anything else you'd like to say: Well I just appreciate the opportunity of sharing my room with you guys and seeing the other spectacular setups you guys and gals have!

Here is the general layout of my room. The signed Range Murata was originally a wallscroll that I had framed. I just didn't realize how big it was gonna be!

So here is my little desk. Its pretty clear at the moment but will probably change as the time passes.

My cabinet that I use to house my smaller figures.

Here is where I keep my manga and DVD's

Top shelf of the stand.

Sorry guys can't help the face ^^;

Very clean and organized!
Thanks! I try to keep it that way -- for the most part =D
OOOOOOOOH WOW!!!! I Love that HUGE framed picture by Range Murata!!!! How did you get that? Details plx! ^^
Love the Tentacle Grape Soda too ^_^
Thanks! The picture is actually a wallscroll I happened upon at a convention, don't remember which one.. but I thought I'd be a shame to just have it sitting around collecting dust so I decided to frame it to preserve it a little.
lol the Tentacle Grape... I gave out the remainder of the soda to friends to keep for "emergencies" XD
Ah I see. I may have to look for one of those. Range Murata is one of my favourite artists if not my favourite. Good idea to preserve it like that ^^
Oh and by the way.. I love the little shorts you've put up, they're hilarious!
Wow love the Range Murata framed picture. I also have the same display case except its in silver. Love your room! <3
Lovely lovely room!!
Damn, thats a cool room. Those Murata artworks really do deserve to be framed, they're that good
Love your room!
Looks so Clean and Neat!
*Turns head to look at own room*
Gonna need to clean up a little.. -.-"
Love your Range Murata posters. So many anime DVD's!! Makes me want more boxsets. So many...
Wow. Very neat and tidy room. Love it.
Thanks for the comments guys! My room stays like that for the most part atleast ^^;
I looooooove your room!!! the Range Murata framed picture It's cool!
Nice Room!! I really like the Range Murata picture!! (^^)
The last picture is super creative ^^
lol Thanks, I figured I needed some way to shove my face in there. So I hired a recruit! ^^
lol where did you get the bottle of "Tentacle Grape"? Thats hilarious.
hehe it was something that was featured on kotaku.com a few months back that I knew right then I had to get a box of. I got it from this website: http://www.tentaclegrape.com/ , it tastes like what you think a grape soda might taste like but the winning factor is its logo!
Hahaha, great portrait! Made me laugh pretty hard :)
Nice room!
... Tentacle grape... the heck is that? xDD
A Range Murata fan; awesome! And lol, I've always wanted a Tentacle Grape can. Where'd you get it?
Right back at ya! Always good to meet folks with similar tastes =D
Awesome ^^ Your room is one of my favourites that I've seen on here. Everything is displayed and organised so nicely and the decor is really well done. Good job ^^
Thanks! I always like to keep things mostly organized ^^ Oh and I loved your Konata diary; the Yoshi shot was the best haha
Love your room you have great taste. Your paint looks good with all the furniture.
haha thanks! I believe your the first person to comment on the paint coordination. I guess I have some coordination skills in me after all XD
Nice stuff and those drinks, quite expensive when I seen them for 5 dollars, more expensive than those hotel beverages.
