Pepper Lunch Philippines: First Visit
So over the past couple of years or so we've been seeing a new food trend from Japan here in the Philippines: "fast-steak" restaurants. There are two major franchises operating locally: Sizzling Pepper Steak, and Pepper Lunch.
My partner and I made our first visit to a Pepper Lunch branch yesterday and had ourselves a whole lot of good food and fun. The meals we selected were very tasty and filling, the service was very fast, and the atmosphere was very nice and not smelly at all. We didn't even have to wait in line even though it was a Saturday afternoon! - it seems that we had just missed the lunch rush, lucky us.
This meal was just one of the things we did yesterday, the day before Valentines' Day and the Chinese New Year and the opening of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. More ramblings over at mai burogu. :D Hope you guys have a good holiday weekend!

My meal: the specialty of the house, Beef Pepper Lunch. This is the plate as it arrived at the table. The meat was so thin that it cooked with just a few seconds' mixing of the plate's contents. And the plate was so hot that it generated a rice crust in spots! YUMMY!

My partner's meal was the Chicken Pepper Lunch; he ordered it with a shot of curry powder, and then got a bowl of miso soup on the side. He said that the chicken would up having the texture of roasted - not grilled or fried - after mixing. Excellent!

Ah Pepper Lunch...
I miss it...sadly Canada, there isn't any Pepper Lunch here...
Last time I ate it was when I was in Japan in August...
It was really good!!!
