* Brief statement: My name is Hopie and I'm from a small town in southern Texas. I've been cosplaying for a little over 5 years now, and it's become a hobby that I truly enjoy. My twin sister and I, Hee-Hee, have created the cosplay group Twinzik, a name which is familiar to those who partake in cosplay competitions in Texas. We have competed 13 times, 10 of which have been in the skit portions of the contests, and we have received 10 awards, including 3 consecutive Best in Shows, 3 Best Skits, Best Dramatic, and 3 Judge's Awards. We have guested at Kamikazecon 2009 and Onicon 2009, and are scheduled to return as cosplay guests at Onicon 2010 as well. We hope to continue to raise the bar in performance and what all a cosplay skit can be.

This has got to be one of my favorite cosplays I've done so far. Megaman Legends is an amazing series which I adore, and after cosplaying from it, realized that others adore it as well! She's such a fun character, and her over-sized outfit really made me intrigued to cosplay her.
The wig was one of the harder parts of the costume. But together with my boyfriend Score (who was the Megaman Volnutt with me) we figured it out! Basically, we took a Punky XL from Cosworx, a pack of extensions, and sheets of craft foam and created that wig! We used the craft foam to form the spikes, then sewed them into the wig itself. From there, we covered the spikes with the wig hair and extensions. Viola! Roll's crazy anime hair!
The hat was done almost as if doing a Mario hat... just insanely over-sized. It was a bit of a challenge, but once I planned it all out, it went pretty smoothly. The metal on the front is craft foam and Sculpy.
The top and shorts were dyed to match each other, and were given the huge white cuffs to really make the proportions seem larger than life! Underneath was a spandex body suit.
The shoes are my favorite part, and were the first shoes I had done that were sort-of difficult. Lots of stretch fabric, craft foam, and foam.
All in all, I adore this costume. Oh, and we can't forget about Data! Everyone's favorite save point! He was made from styrofoam, Model Magic, craft foam, wires, and paint.

Everyone loves Team Rocket, but for some reason, Butch and Cassidy don't seem to get much love, even though they're the only members of TR that do their job correctly! My twin and I decided we needed to cosplay them and show the world what they're about!
My most favorite part of this cosplay is the wig. It took me a long long time, but I'm very proud of it. It took a long wig, four packs of extensions, and green foam to make the shapes of the "pig-tails." After doing it, I probably could have used something lighter than the foam I used, but after putting about four or five clips in the wig to keep it on my head without sliding off, it was just fine.
The dress was made from stretch fabric, and the gloves and boots were found and altered.

My very first cosplay was Rikku from FFX-2, and I never really thought I'd be cosplaying Yunie afterwards! This costume was made only in a couple of days, but I'm still very proud of it.
The hardest part was finding a fabric that Iiked for the skirt, and when I found this blue crushed almost tie-dyed fabric, I knew it was what I wanted to use.
The shirt was altered from a tank top of mine, and I used craft foam for the Zanarkand symbol on her chest.

My boyfriend Score as an amazing Squall cosplay, so once we started dating, I knew Rinoa was just around the corner!
He found this amazing ribbed blue fabric in Nebraska (where he lived at the time) and that's what was used for the arm warmers and duster.
The skirt was made from a tie-dyed fabric I found for really cheap.
I added four brown wefts to the wig to give it Rinoa's highlights.
She's a very fun costume to wear, and I don't think I'll be retiring it anytime soon.

I loved Juri's character while watching the Dark Tournament saga of Yuyu Hakusho, so I knew once my twin decided to cosplay as Yusuke, that I'd be cosplaying Juri.
Her ears were my favorite part to make. I made them by making a wire frame and layering model magic on it. After letting it dry, I painted it to have a fade effect from blue to green.
The top and skirt were bunched and ruffled, which was the first time I had done something like that. It was a bit of a challenge for me, but I like how it came out, still.
Easily one of my favorite costumes I've done!

Oh, Dr. Finkelstien. You love him, yet you're also creeped out by him. He's one of my favorite characters from TNBC, and I was for some reason crazy enough to try and cosplay him.
The head was definitely the obstacle with this cosplay. We made a helmet out of layers upon layers of foam, then covered it in blue painter's tape. We did that so when we next added model magic, it would stick to it. After sculpting the model magic, we did all the little details like the teeth and glasses. It was really fun, and I couldn't have done it without my boyfriend Score. He's the creative genius behind the Doctor.

Casey was a simple costume, yet hard to pull off. She's a hardcore Brit who doesn't take it from anyone, and I'm cute little Hopie... haha! She was fun!

I love Mio! I wish more people knew about her... she's such a cute character!
My favorite part of this costume was the skirts. The blue and white one was made from soft fleece, so it was very comfortable to wear. The white one was made from very soft fabric that was very weightless, so it poofed easily!

Big O will always be one of my favorite animes. Dorothy is an awesome character, and for some reason, I always love a good android. ^^
The dress was the first full dress I've made, so it came with it's ups and downs. I plan on remaking it later this year, as I've got a bit more sewing knowledge under my belt.

This costume was based off of a fantart found of Deviantart. And by golly, I love it! A pretty altered costume, but it's still one of my favorites. I even invested in some bucked teeth to be more accurate to the little guy.

There are a ton of Misa cosplayers out there, but not many do her actual outfits. I loved the outfit she wore on one of the manga covers, so that's what I chose to do! The scythe was a challenge, but my boyfriend Score helped me with it a lot. It's wood, styrofoam, model magic, wire, and lots of paint.
