figma and Nendoroid Yui Hirasawa
It was a last minute decision to get figma Yui. I wasn’t really thinking when I got her but I’m glad that I did. I probably like just about everything about figma Yui Hirasawa, the articulation, the texture of the plastic, the accessories, the design, they all look good. I think Max Factory did a nice job with this figma.
I took some photos of figma Yui and Nendoroid Yui last weekend. I used Nendoroid Playset 01 as the background for the shoot. At first I thought figmas will look awkward with the Nendo playset but I guess figma Yui’s pics turned out okay. Nendoroids are super cute so I don’t have any problem with them with backgrounds and stuff. You can place a Nendoroid beside a trash can and it will still look cute.
Aside from the facial expressions of figma Yui, I really like Giita’s case. It was made with a softer plastic and you can actually fit the guitar inside which is pretty cool. It took me a few minutes to attach the straps though, I was just being careful not to stretch the holes too much.
Yui’s uniform is also made with a soft plastic and it looks good. The creases on it made it look flowy and light. figma Yui also comes with a nice pair of brown school shoes but I wasn’t able to take a photo of that.
It’s difficult not to like Nendo Yui. She’s really adorable. Just like Nendo Mio, Yui also has a cute stand which is more flexible and fits her easily. Gotta love all her facial expressions too.
The last photo is my favorite. I used the figma Yui’s decals to copy the nendo expression. You have to use water to transfer the design to the blank face included in the package. There are various expressions to choose from which is really nice. I like the water slide decals better than regular stickers since it’s thinner and smoother. You just have to be careful not to fold it while sliding onto the face because it will create creases and air bubbles. Just slide it slowly and pat it dry with a paper towel and it’s good to go. I also tried to remove the decal by placing it under running water and rubbing it a bit.
Overall I’m quite happy with my K-On! figures. I didn’t order any more figmas except for Mio. But I’m hoping to complete the Nendoroids (K-On! uniform version), they’re just too cute to resist. ^^;

Got Figma Yui yesterday as well.
Haven't played a lot with her yet, but so far I'm very pleased.
Was also very careful with the straps ^^
And my dad, being a guitarist (and bassist, too) loves Gitah.
He's not very fond that Mio's bass is lefthanded though..
Speaking of Mio, her Nendo should arrive today.
Nendo Yui is still in her package, so will unpack both then.
Was too late ordering Figma Mio though D:
About the decals,
do you just scrape off the face when you feel like switching?
I tried removing the decal maybe just 15-20 minutes after it was applied. I placed it under running water and I with a light rub it came off. Not sure though if it will slide as easily if it has been applied for a longer period of time.
According to the official GSC buroggu, you need to just apply a layer of tape and tear it off... XD
I see. Thanks for the info! ^^
the last pic looks fun...like they are fighting over something....
I love their facial expression. Lol.
I don't know what should i do...do i want the figmas or do i just stick with the nendoroids...I already have the Mio and Yui nendoroids, but the figmas versions are calling out to me. @.@
At first I thought I will not buy the figmas too but I really like Mio so pre-ordered her and when there was a chance to get Yui I also bought her. ^^; I guess I'll stop at that. But I hope to complete the nendos.
