Kotobukiya 1/8 Yoko Kit

Posted by canadawbd

I just finished up my 1/8 Yoko resin kit, so I decided to upload a pic to show what I did. I still have a lot to learn about building kits, but I think it turned out alright for now. I can fix it up later, as I used acrylic paints, and they can be removed easily when I get better.

I made a base using a piece of wood and some Poly Filla for the soil (painted later, of course). Tamiya and Vallejo paints used throughout.

Do you build resin kits?

    She looks great! I'd like to see more angles if you have any.

      Thanks! Resin kits are still tricky for me, but I'm doing better.

    Very impressive, although I think the right leg is twisted a little too far (but it would be more stable like that).
    I did the same kit last year. Perhaps I should reupload my pics for a comparison.

    Good to see that I'm not the only resin kit builder here.

      Thanks! I remember seeing a completed Yoko on Danny Choo's site a while back- was that yours? I remember that it was really nicely painted.

      I think that the leg issue is more my camera's lens than the twist itself, looking at it in real life, but it wouldn't be too hard for me to re-align it if I re-do the whole thing later on.

        Might have been. Here's the link to the original blog post. Look familiar?

        I didn't do a front shot but the rear one shows that I pushed the knees and feet much closer than you did. And I had a hell of a time adding pins to the feet to make sure that she stood up!!
        I also tucked the rifle butt into her armpit. I see that you left it outside the arm on yours.

    Yokoppai's looking good there!
    I like the color you chose for her skin, it makes it look like she had a good tan
    Never really liked the idea of buying resin kits because I know I'd just mess it up ><;
