Macro Photoshoot Test

Hey everyone. Just showing a few photos of mine. Camera used are Canon EOS 40D with Macro lens 50mm 1:1.8 (belong to my dad).
Love the quality. Hopefully, my dad let me borrow his camera again in the future.
C&C are very much appreciated.

The potential for clarity and detail is there, but most of these shots are very noisy/grainy. With better light I have no doubt that you could get some very nice photos with that camera+lens.
wait a minute.. isn't the EF 50mm f1.8 is an potrait lens.. the only 50mm macro lens from Canon should EF 50mm f2.5 compact macro lens..
Indeed, the macro is the EF 50mm f/2.5 lens and at 0,5x magnification, not a real 1x macro.
i'm still not familiar with the magnification scale or ratio but as what i know.. it will magnify the image bigger compare to the same mm lens..
If I were your dad I would never let you touch the camera again! ;)
j/k, but all the photos are out of focus. (and underexposed except for the first exia, it's blownout by the flash)
Maybe I should've use flash.
if anything i would say some of ur shots were blur cause of camera shake. try a higher shutter speed?
I was thinking the same thing, but my dad told me not to do ANYTHING to his camera other than taking pictures.
This is really nice. I love the effects.
nice but, most of them are blurred..^^; the first picture is pretty clear but the flash kinda ruined it..
this one looks great..;D
Too bad your dad limited the shoot, this pic's the best IMO, good focus, nice weathering effects. Overall, the detail really makes the pic... Nice...
o.O
Thanx. I actually edited the photo with Photoshop. I only sharpen the image though. I'm still a newb at Photoshop.
Nice, but perhaps next time your father might assist/guide you and let you select the proper settings like aperture, exposure time... also for such low light macro shots a tripod is necessary or something to prop up the camera on so it stays stable.
Thank you for that tips. Hopefully my dad are kind enough to let me borrow his tripod. Truth to be told, I actually used flash in every shots, but when I look at the image on the camera's screen, It looks way too bright, so I deleted all images with flash except Exia, which somehow I missed. After transferring all the images into my PC, I feel like hitting myself in the head when I saw the image of Exia (with flash) and compared it to the other images.
From that, I learn that any camera's screen, regardless of it's size, can rally fool your eyes.
That's the truth. I'm still getting used to my EOS 20D, and I'll view all my pics after they're uploaded to the Mac, then I'll delete the crappy ones.... Otherwise... it's do the best you can with whats available... good luck and do more pics!!...
