Kirstin Dunst - Akihabara Majokko Princess
As AJV posted about earlier on figure.fm, Kirstin Dunst stars in a cover of "Turning Japanese", a short film by artist Takashi Murakami and hollywood director McG, as part of an exhibition Pop Life showing at the Tate Modern in London.
The VIDEO can be viewed HERE on Vimeo.
(YouTube versions are constantly being deleted ^^;)
EDIT: So Vimeo likes to delete them too... I guess because it's a little NSFW.
Check out another YouTube video here. This one is protected for 18+ so it should work from now on:
The clip was filmed in August of 2009, but by what I've found, the video has only been released on YouTube this month.
In the video she dances around Akihabara, Tokyo in a super colourful sailor-fuku-mahou-shoujo cosplay including a bright blue wig.
Dunst was the voice of Kiki in the english dub of Hayao Miyazaki's 'Kiki's Delivery Service'.
More photos over at my blog.

this is cool as hell Kirsten Dunst is the best hells yeah.
I concur! xD
I'm still curious what the purpose of this video is, though ^^; Anyhow... I'm surprised at the amount of ero they've put in. Oh and Super Driver spotted! :D
It's part of an exhibition called Pop Life at Tate Modern in London.
I spotted Aya on, what I would assume to be, an itashi car.
Where?
That was kinda scary to watch... Kirsten Dunst was never really significant to me in any way, not that the Spiderman movies or her acting is bad.. But you could view this as a derogatoric video, stereotyping Asian culture and an over exaggeration of Otaku culture. Seriously, just because she's got shimapan, doesn't mean you'll not look like a gaijin
to be honest, i don't think she wanted to not look like a gaijin or anything. yea, i know what you mean but i don't think its a very constructive attitude either
my response: "OH WHAT THE SHIT LOL"
i used to be quite a fan of Kirstin Dunst but this is just too wierd lol.
really surprised on the amount of ero this video has too lulz
Here is the link for the original video (as the YouTube is gone now).

[DISCLAIMER: Please note that while I use the phrase "white folks" in this reply-- it's not meant to be racist. I, myself, am a white person. (I decided to add this after re-reading what I wrote)]
Oh god... I always hated this song. Especially that guitar riff right at the beginning that's repeated through out the song. That guitar riff is the tune/melody that was used to stereotype/portray Chinese "stuff" throughout the 70s and 80s. I am shocked there isn't a gong in there somewhere too. Do I think that this was meant to be satire? NO! I don't think The Vapours has any idea when the wrote the song back in 1980. Here is the original:

I'm Sorry because I can see that some folks on here like this Kirsten Dunst video. I, however, have grown quite weary of the tired, played-out idea that white folks will sweep in and move to center-stage in all cultures with which they come into contact. I know this video is explicitly stating this outright, but in the end it's all the same thing; no different from The Last Samurai, Dances With Wolves, Australia, etc, etc.
It probably sounds like I'm over-reacting (again) to something as simple as this silly, little music video but if you disagree, take a second or third look please. What is Kirsten's role in this? How is she being staged in Akiba? What are the Japanese people's reactions? Ugh... Enough already.
I think they should of changed the song abit, be, "I think am turning Otaku" oppose to "I think I am turning Japanese."
You make a very good point.
I always liked this song, the original version. This girl can't sing.
