Black Rock Shooter Anime Ver ~Black Blade Ver.~
A really stunning piece of work ^^
Keep in mind that this is NOT by Good Smile Company and is a Garage Kit that was sold during Wonder Festival 2010 Winter earlier by Grimrock! circle.
It's similar to GSC's upcoming BRS figure because it's based on the same illustration ^^;
Either way, the painter is definitely a pro since it looks much better than the original kit (white background). It can even pass as an official release or mistaken for one ^^;
One of the best part is that since the "flame" isn't made from a translucent material, the painter used a fluorescent paint for it which gives out that glowing effect when exposed to light.
To be honest, I personally prefer the face on the kit than the GSC's version ^^;

I'm scared to get her because of her posture. I don't want another peg malfunction like what happened with my Gwendolyn http://empireofunreason.wordpress.com/2010/02/04/disaster-strikes/
Same here. I love the entire thing (would get it if I had infinite moneys...), but I've decided to avoid one-leg-pose figures ever since my Fauna's peg broke ^^;
Definitely the center of gravity is at the front side of body. Unless the base is much heavier than it looks plus there is a strong support rod going up from her feet.
Super shiny O.O
Is that the final product for selling? if so, I'm disappointed because I saw some time ago a photo of this same figure but with the canon/gun and with a more stunning base. I was planning to get it but since it's only like this...
As mentioned, this IS a Garage Kit and NOT an item by Good Smile Company. Both are totally from different groups ^^
The one you are referring to is the upcoming 1/8 scale release of "Black Rock Shooter Anime Ver." by GSC, and of course is the one holding a cannon with impressive base stand.
You are poorly misinformed. You really should read whats written up there before making a dumb comment. :3
I like it more than the real one ><
I always prefer garage kits over mass produced PVCs. they take more skill to paint since it's done by hand, and not by machine.
If you compare the eyes on it to the regular one:

The eyes on the garage kit are obviously better. It uses a black pupil which makes it more realistic. Plus, it's handpainted, which makes it 1000 times better. :3
It's still either hit or miss for garage kit. At the hands of a master it will turn out to be one of kind figure, but it's also that much more harder to find one finished with supreme painting.
Since mass produced figures went up a lot in terms of quality standard, people are much more pickier.
Well obviously. :P Some people don't know that garage kits are unpainted resin kits that people paint themselves. I'm just talking about this finished model that's shown here.
Based on what i see here compared to GSC's mass produced one, this looks much better. Of course, this is just one model. Others will obviously vary depending on the painter.
I love the tinted hair on this figure! It's the main reason I loved the original BRS figure (the dark teal highlights in the hair). I was really excited about the new GSC version of this figure, but seeing the painted prototype with the matte black hair really turned me off of it. I also prefer the expression and the eyes on this kit. She looks more alive and determined vs. the "dead fish eye" face GSC is releasing.
Can't blame GSC about those dead fish eyes. They're just being faithful to the original. It's just the way that Huke draws the eyes on BRS.

Not to say I disagree with your opinion though. I'd go for this GK over GSC's release any day. *-* This painter is godly.
She actually looks determined in this one; definitely blows the GSC one out of the water.
omg the katana looks so cool in the last pic
black blade beats rock cannon hands down
Garage kit means have to put her up and paint TwT I'm not good in that.
she won't drop?
