If I do a marathon on what I've watched since 2002, I'll stay glued to my laptop screen for 3 months. As for manga marathon, it'll go on for two weeks.
Still have a long way to go, though...
OK, I've been an otaku since 2002. So, if I compiled together all animes that I watched and all mangas that I've read since that year, here's the result:
lol this is interesting... i record all the anime/manga i finish and whatnot on a text document and that's pretty much it.
I also do the same. I might give myanimelist a try... nah, too much trouble.
Give it a try, it's surprisingly addictive (at least until you finish). I didn't wanna bother, but once you start remembering shows and the nostalgia hits you full-force it's fun.

if u feel lazy to religiously update the list yourself, you can always use MAL Updater to do the dirty work for you....

I use my huge excel sheet to manage 'em all: so far 261 series downloaded (ex. Ovas) vs 130 watched ^^

For me, I keep all the anime I've ever watched stored in my brain and HDD, let's put it in to perspective compared to your anime total in your screen shot shows (129 completed) shows you've watched since 2002 is to my last 2 years on my current 2TB. For manga to your 230 completed since 2002 I have read 356 manga in the last 2 years.
and my library continues to grow as each season goes by. Yes, I've been watching anime for ages, since I was 6 or 7ish or since 1996
Wow, that's quite an achievement. Back in 2002 (the year I officially became otaku), I was still in high school, so I couldn't support my hobby on my own. Always relied on TV for anime (thanks a lot to AXN :3 ).
I watched anime too when I was small. But always thought them as cartoons :D I won't forget the Grendizers, Saber Rider & The Star Sheriffs, Mospaeda (always hummed the OP back then. when i came across Youtube for the 1st time, the first thing i searched was Mospaeda OP) and DRAGONBALL!
Since I got my own allowance, you guess it, most of it I will spend on otaku hobby. Thanks to Danny Choo, he inspired me to bust my bank since 2009 *laughs*

I don't have a MAL account. But, I have had an anidb account since 2005 and according to that I've "wasted" 218 days watching just over 1200 series/ovas/movies (I don't keep track of the series I own on DVD or have seen on TV, so its a bit higher than that). Considering I started watching anime in roughly 2001/2002, it seems I nearly average a month of anime viewing a year. Blimey, I didn't know I was that bad. I should really pick up additional hobbies or something I think.

MAL...Yeah, I got one too. I only have about 36 days of marthon. I am sure I have watched more than that but that's all the anime I can remember watching in my days. Unfortunately, my friends(at the time) were not Otakus and I got chewed out for it. I still watched it in secret but not to the point that I have been two years ago ^_~. I started officially watching (as in I knew about it) anime in 1998 but I also posted titles I didn't know were from Japan too (like Ghibli movies and some super old series I watched when I was 4-5 years old)
