Most "broken figma" posts are usually concerning Figmas of factoral defects such as - Drossel's arm/torso, Nanoha's pigtails (hair to be more generic) and such. They don't break for as long as you don't harrass them. XD

Haha! I myself had been backing away from Figmas lately. The primary reason is GSC had been gradually losing their touch on quality. Most of the recently released Figmas have bad face alignment such as Aigis and Vita, and the front hair-pieces look like they haven't had finishing touches yet.

Though GSC had gone back on track with the K-on Figmas. But then again, my secondary reason for holding back on Figmas is that I'm raising funds for a Dollfie. I won't be buying Figmas nor eating for the next 6 months for a Dollfie! XD

Max Factory are the ones that make Figmas, not GSC themselves.

Good luck on getting a daughter, who are you going for?

Yukino! She's the cheapest of the bunch together with Aoi, and I find it too troublesome to build-my-own-dollfie part by part buying... so Yukino is my best go. ^____^

The old hands are most common (With the ball on top of it. My biggest fear are those)
Then you can argue about the shoulders & hairpieces.

    Damage report on my end?
    1x generic Haruhi Hand, 1x Kyon Camera hand ;_;, Witch Yuki's Left Shoulderjoint ;_;
And I thought Drossel's right shoulderjoint was also gonna break, but it seems fine.. Just be gentle.
Still haven't removed her twin tails even once.

Though I'm quite satisfied with the newer Figma like Aegis, Yui and Ein.

Since figma have movable joints, it's not unusual that they'd break. Quality is typically good, but sometimes certain joints will come in stiff and hard to move. In those situations, don't force them! That'll cause the joint to snap. I had that happen with a Konata figma. Some issues are across the entire line (like Drossel's shoulder joint) and some are individual (like my Konata).

One of the ways people have solved the stiff joint issue is by soaking the joint in warm water. That helps loosen it up and it an be moved again.

Another cause of breakage is improper use of the joints. When moving my figma, I'm careful to have my thumb on the joint and take note of which direction it's supposed to go. Sometimes you can't see which direction a shoulder joint should be rotated, and you end up shearing it by going the wrong way.

The soak in warm water tip is great! When I read about it on your blog I immediately followed it when I got my Figma Drossel which had very stiff shoulders when it arrived and it cured the problem. ^^

Most breakages are usually caused by improper handling.

Just be careful when moving the limbs and swapping hands.

My Miku's arm broke. My Kagami's arm broke. Kagami's waist broke, Miku's elbow broke, and Konata's ahoge broke. :|

And I wasn't being rough with any of them... I think an action figure should be able to withstand simple posing...

I just hope Figutto will be durable, figma have scarred me away from action figures, but the Touhou Figutto are too cute to resist.

And this is why I could never be a figure owner. Improper handling.

I think the DBZ arc of when Gohan and Goku lived out daily life in Super Saiyan to gain control of their strength is a fairly good example. You know breaking glasses when picking them up, etc. The whole "sometimes I don't even know my own strength" thing.

To be more precise, I just lack delicacy.

Oh lol, can't believe someone used my photo.

From past experience the figmas that I have broken occur as a result of me either accidentally or not adding pressure in some unusual angle to a joint.

My biggest fear was always breaking the hand joints since those get stuck inside the arm, but now the newer figmas come without the ball at the end of the hands making this less likely.

I suggest just buying one if you got the funds and play around with her/him.

They're not going to take a beating like toys intended for children, but you shouldn't have any trouble as long as you're careful. I broke my Lelouch's arm when I tried to force it. Luckily, it was a clean break and I was able to fix it with some glue.

Even with weekly posing, Figmas are pretty durable. As long as you dont treat them like a kids toy, they should be fine. My kid cousin although is different. He knows better though since if he breaks one of my figures, Id break him into pieces.

    Agh! Dx
Needless to say, I have broken a few figmas in my day. Possibly because of how much I handle them..? I recently dropped my BRS figma and i'm afriad to touch her xD. She isn't broken though I just don't want to break her!
