Detolfed!

Posted by Lord Gara

Finally managed to buy my first Detolf since my bedroom was exploding with AFs and miniatures (any Warhammer players here?) all over.
The first floor is now occupied by the lovely Kureha and the mahou-shojo Nanoha and Fate.
They are pretty old figures but they still looks great.

This photo has been taken with the help of my Canon 40D with Sigma 18-70 mounted.

Nice, I still need to get myself a detolf one day, cuz dusting my girls is a pain in the @#s! :P

    Is a detolf really dust-free, or does it still come in through the slits? I read a post one time about a guy who totally made it airtight with insulation-rubber ^^;

They're not entirely dust free, some dust will get in through the two small slits on the front but in a normal environment it should be minimal and will require you to clean/dust the inside at most once a month only.

In fact cleaned the inside of my Detolf today and dust the figures that were inside of it, after over a month they had less dust on them than a figure displayed outside of it accumulates in a few days.

A Detolf is one of the best purchases I ever did. Barely any dust

I cleaned my detolfs a few days ago, the amount of dust in there was actually very acceptable considering I didn't clean them for a while.

I agree with what Smithy says, I've got one figure out of the detolfs cause she's too tall, and she collects more dust in a few days than the ones inside the detolf accumulate in a month.

Nice. I just got my first one yesterday. Still haven't decided how I want to arrange my figures in it though.

Congratulations on getting your first Detolf. They're really good looking, aren't they?

I've got 2 of them in my room now, filled with figures. (^_^)
I'm thinking of getting a 3rd one soon.

Yeah they are very very nice but it was a pain in the ass buying it and bringing it home, 40kg of stuff! Damn!
However I already planned to buy a second one.
BTW, I added some close-ups of Fate, Nanoha and Kureha...

Yes, they are pretty heavy. That really surprised me when I got mine, cause they don't look all that heavy to be honest. I guess the weight of the glass can be a bit misleading.

And nice pictures of your figures. I especially like the Kureha one. Really pretty. (^_^)

As far as I'm aware of, yes, the only place where you can get them is Ikea.
I don't suppose you can have them delivered to your doorstep? Cause 400 miles is quite the distance to travel.
