Alter's Akiyama Mio figure
Although had pre-ordered her and she arrived a few weeks ago, hadn’t taken out any time yet to make some photos of Alter’s lovely figure of Akiyama Mio from “K-ON!”.

Made a few photos with an added rgb led on purple color setting, which creates a different atmosphere.
Might try and create an entire music performance stage setting once the other girls are out.

I remember when the prototype for the figure was originally shown, many said they didn't much like the facial expression, but back then and certainly now that she's here personally feel that the facial sculpt of this Mio figure is perfect, she's bubbly, full of life and joy.

Amazing sculpt, exquisite detailing especially on the bass guitar and a flawless paint job, overall I’m quite impressed with this Mio figure.
You can see more photos and my thoughts on Mio at my blog.

your photos do a better jobs than the official ones
Thanks! Still have much to learn though, hope to get better at figure photography as I go. ^^
I just order Mio and Yui from a US based shop. I have Azyu on order at Hobby Search.
I can't wait for Mio and Yui to arrive! It'll be next month probably... as they're shipping together.
I originally wasn't going to buy them.. but I kept seeing them and liked them so much. So I must have the set. Well I'll only have Mugi and Ritsu left to buy.
Have Azusa on order at Hobby Search too, Yui at HLJ.
I think the full set will look awesome together.
Hm... It seems that after getting the Azone dolls, I have very little desire to get the completed PVCs. (^.^;)
Might spare some cash for Yui if I still have some left over from my special fund. But bidding on a ton of expensive things over at YA!J, so I don't know...
I feel that the big collars for Azone dolls makes the neck shorter than it should. Also the hair can't do what they can for PVC figures in terms of accuracy. It's also too expensive too!
But I do appreciate its cuteness.
The Azone dolls look cute, but personally I prefer these Alter PVC figures, the facial expressions are a lot better and more accurate than those for the dolls which are more generic.
So true! But with completed PVC figures, you get one pose. With dolls/figmas, it's only limited by your imagination! (^o^)
Right, that's why figmas are so popular, not to mention decent quality and price. Doll versions are dolls before character figure. I guess it's all matter of personal preferences and which qualities are most important when buying goods.
She's a fantastic figure, my only beef is that she's perched on one stand; it makes her seem a bit unstable. Never-the-less, Mio's still worth getting. =3
Am worried about that single stand too. Think I'll see if I can fit a transparent plastic/acrylic piece to support the other leg too.
