Soul of Chogokin Drossel "Review" & Unopened Nendoloot

Posted by Ffenix [www]

Hi, my name is Ffenix and I have a problem. I collect too many Nendoroids and about half of my collection (see the first pic below) are yet to be opened. I need halp! Okay, I'm not really in need of psychiatric attention, but I am concerned about my growing collection of unopened Nendoroid packages. I really need to IKEA-fy my apartment so I can display these wonderful toys.

Anywho, in other news, hey here's my mini-review/show & tell of the Soul of Chogokin Drossel.

I must say, this toy brings back my childhood memories. I used to own a bunch of die-cast toys, most of them were hand-me-downs from my older brother.

(Note about the Nendos: I still have 4 more boxes that are still unopened... help!)

Soul of Chogokin Drossel is by far superior to the already awesome figma counterpart. I can easily pose this toy easier and in more positions than the figma.

Of course, the LED lights are a big bonus.

Personally, I find the figma kinda unwieldly to pose and I have a hard time making it stand on its own feet.

Soul of Chogokin Drossel is so easy to pose that even Nendo Drossel is feeling a little sad... she needs to be carried and a hug.

Okay, this looks kinda weird. Like uh... yeah...

Here's a height comparison of sorts. Any questions? =)

Omake: Here's a photo I made at Ocean Beach here in San Francisco. The little cloth is used to protect Chogokin Drossel's very thin paint. (I already slightly scratched the back side of her legs. I'm thinking of using car touch-up paint to cover the scratch. >_<)

nice collection there! First of all , you can give all your nendroids to me! I've always wanted a collection of nendroids, but prefer pvc's in the end.

Personally, I only get figmas for certain character and series because it's easier to complete the set and pose together. Especially when they don't make good enough PVC versions or not at all!

But in this case if people knew about chogokin Drossel, I'm sure many people would've skipped figma one. Still only figma version currently has the winter geared version ^^

Hmm... I dunno if fans would go straight for the Chogokin version if it came out first, considering the retail price is about $80-$90 (not including shipping costs).

But perhaps, some fans will buy three versions regardless. =D

Maybe... though I've owned quite a few anime collectibles in the past two decades and I doubt many of them hold their original value, much less appreciate in price. Today's popular thing is tomorrow's has-been. I'm sure about a decade from now (or even less) that K-On! and Nanoha will most likely be forgotten. Of course I hope this isn't the case, but people barely remember anime series like Mahou Tsukai Tai! or Key the Metal Idol or Creamy Mami. (Oh man, I'm old!)
