Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei Review

Mameshiki actually a Garage Kit by Liquid Stone.
The original name is Kadou Shoujo, then like any other famous Garage Kit, this kit now being converted int PVC figure, simplified, and of course affordable price.

Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei Review

Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei is packed with two section of plastic trays. The front section consist of:
1x Reimu Hakurei Figure
1x Miko stick (sorry I don't know the name)
1x Broom
1x Scarf
4x Pair of hands (total 5 pairs)
1x Face sticker

The back side:
1x Display base
1x Display rod
2x Mounting parts
2x Faces (blank & calm face, total 3 faces)
1x Pair of bended legs
1x Pair of bended arms

The differential between Kadou Shoujo (Garage Kit) and Mameshiki (PVC) is, Mameshiki is much more simplified.

For example: Reimu face in Mameshiki version just like Nendoroid. Molded in one piece and then her eyes and mouth being painted. However, in Kadou Shoujo. Reimu face, eyes, and inner mouth (the happy one) are molded in separate part.
Her main face is hollow on her eyes and mouth, you need to attach her eyes and mouth from inside.

If you ever building Gunpla, especialy MG, you know what I mean :D

As you can see, Reimu can standing by herself without the need of displaying base and rod.

Unlike Nendoroid, her foot are big. So you don't need displaying base to make her standing.

Mostly, her design is similar to Nendoroid (except her body size). The only different is, Nendoroid version got back red ribbon, while Mameshiki not.

Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei Review

Yes, she's wearing bloomer, you pervert!

Notice the red hole? That thing not attached on her butt, but on her back lower skirt. That hole is used for mounting part.

Her white frill also molded separately from the skirt, as you already see from the previous pic.

Another differential between Kadoushoujo and Mameshiki. Her white line on skirt in Kadou shoujo not painted, but molded in separate parts, so you need to attach it by yourself. While in Mameshiki, it painted.

Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei Review

Sit down position is easy because the design of her skirt.
Her skirt also soft PVC.

Also, her sock on legs, and bloomer frill are molded separately from her legs, then glued together.

Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei Review

Her hair roll (ugh, don't know the name), especially the white frill also molded separately.

If you had the chance to get the Kadou Shoujo and you're gunpla builder, you will love it :D

When you remove her face, you will see if this figure not as a simple as Nendoroid (hollow head). Her head design is complicated, it consist of inner red joint which is the base of her neck, back hair, face, and bang.

Also, her upper head actualy provided with a pin.
You cannot see it because this pin is stored reversed in her head. To show this pin, you need to open her bang and face, then pull out the pin, and put it back together with the pin position on top.

Then, what the use of this little horn on her upper head?
At April, Mameshiki Marisa Kirisame will be relased, Marisa came with her witch hat. And her witch hat need to attached on a pin to prevent from falling off. Since Reimu also got it, it mean Reimu was already designed to be able accepting Marisa's hat.

If you asking a question, why they don't use a magnet?
Because Mameshiki head is smaller than Nendoroid head, and Mameshiki head not a hollow head. That's why :D

Her tail is removable like Nendoroid Saber Lily.
However, unlike Saber Lily, Reimu's ribbon is removable. Just pull her tail and her ribbon will off.

Also, her ribbon actually consist of 3 separate parts then put it together. Of course, Mameshiki already available with assembled version, (I don't have the guts to disassembling it :D)

Displaying base, rod and mounting part.

See the three big hole on it? Those holes can be used to attach three displaying rod, it mean you can displaying three Mameshiki or kadou Shoujo in one display base.

Nice and creative, it save space too :D

Since the mounting part is using ball joint, you can pan and tilt Reimu position easily.

Even Mameshiki version don't have back ribbon, but she was supplied with winter theme, she got red scarf.

She also got tea. Too bad, no sake :D

Between Nendoroid and Mameshiki, both got own pros and cons. But one thing I'm sure, I'm not regret buying Mameshiki. Since Mameshiki is much more easy to obtain in normal price.

The retail price is higher than Nendoroid, but seeing the fact if this figure was actually complicated, using a lot of mold, and sold in limited retail store (which one of them actually do International shipping already, yay!), and of course, Touhou. I'm not complain.

After seeing your review, I'm glad I ordered one of her. Though I have yet to receive her, in my opinion, she's so much better than her nendoroid counterpart.

    1. Much more articulation. So many more poses you can get her in!
    2. A myriad of facial expressions.
    3. Great accessories.

and most importantly, I find her chibi rendition to be much more appealing than her nendoroid counterpart. Much more well proportioned and so much more adorable!
