New K-ON!! character Miura Akane?
Spotted Japanator advertising a new character for “K-ON!!”. Called Miura Akane, the pink/red haired girl has a long ponytail and apparently plays the tuba.
The official “K-ON!!” website at TBS has not published anything about a new character yet, nor have they updated their character page either.
Can't make out the text all that well on the images but looking at the second image it seems fabricated, so I'm thinking it's just a hoax... (heard it might be 2ch originated).
How about it "K-ON!" fans, what would you say about anime original characters appearing in the second season?
The Tuba? That'll be an interesting addition. ^^

K-On didn't have anyone with unusual hair colouring. I'd be surprised if they suddenly did start adding in people with different colour hair, and wonder why they kept the lead girls with normal colours.
but I guess we'll see!

Hmm...I'm not to sure about this. It could be a hoax because I think she kind of looks a little too much like Ui in some of her faces shown.

It's most likely just same fanmade character.
There's still tons of material in the manga they could use for Season 2, so introducing an anime-only character this early is kinda..
I'll also add that the "screenshot" in the "magazine scans" looks fake.
Character's as sharp as a vector, while the backgrounds a photograph.

I'd also find it odd that they'd use one of Yui's poses (where she's holding the tuba) instead of coming up with something new for her.
I'm def convinced it's all a hoax now.
Hoax or not, I want to see this stick hold a tuba.

Really? The original image I couldn't make most of it out so if that's the case it most likely is fake, but I suspected as such from the start for most of the reasons already given.

I think the pink hair is the giveaway. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any character in K-ON! has hair color different from what one would see in real life.
