Fanfiction...

I think one of traits of an otaku is he/ she can be a fanfic writer. A fanfic or two is a must or at least write once. Have you ever write a fanfic before? I always do it back then but now, time is not always my buddy.
And I hate writer's block.

Never wrote a fanfic before in my life. Wish I could, but when it comes to detailed story telling I can see myself a failure due to wrong grammar writing.

Nah, no one can gauge how much otaku they are. I still think writing fanfics is one of the otaku-ness traits. Like me, I don't cosplay at all :3 if I have the chance, I might try but I might lose my job if I cosplay...

Good point... mostly here, I live vicariously thru others posts while adding my "two cents" worth on occasion..
As far as anime and such, I've been interested since I was a kid, watching the old original Speed Racer, Kimba the White Lion and Aqua Boy(?) back when they were on PBS *Public Broadcast Station* back in grade school.. *that was just under 40 years ago!* So, I guess I've been sorta Otaku since then, it resurfaced in the early 80's when Harmony Gold "Bastardized" Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada: Genesis Climber into the Robotech series..Now I'm here and getting back into it... *Guess I might be Otaku at that...*

I wrote one for Monster Hunters Freedom 2 forums, over on gamefaqs.com, it seemed to be successful, but I have lost the story and it was over 2 years ago so it's lost somewhere in the forums archives xD

15 year ago wrote "Oh My Devil Hunter" It's still around on the web... Devil Hunter Yohko- Oh My Goddess cross-over. Non lemon, played the characters as their normal selves...

Plenty of times, but I never get around to finishing them. However, fullscale homemade science fiction I can do. I also never take shortcuts.

I'd say there are at least twelve fanfics on infinite hold, and one I'm just a bit blocked about due to lack of "historical" info. Only write fanfics for Bionicle, though. Nothing else.

I got pretty interesting idea for a revamp of the megaman story. But I already got four to six of my own stories that I want to get done.

^_^;; i always make up Hen-tie Fanfiction. though i prefer to make up my own stories rather than write fanfiction, i like the freedom of writing a story from scratch.

Sometimes, I just borrowed the characters' name. In that way I can create my own story. OOC and alternate universe rules, I think :3

I still do, actually. Started way back in high school when I was a yaoi fangirl (not the rabid kind, thank goodness); moved on to other fandoms and other pairings. Now I can write both het and slash, depends on what I feel like doing.
For my first NaNoWriMo in Nov 2009 I did an original story; this year I might try to do a fanfic novel, set in a game that I used to play a lot. :D

I did a fair bit of writing from elementary school til university. I began writing fanfic's back in grade 8 when final fantasy 10 was really hyped. Then eventually I moved on to writing just fiction on its own, and they tend to be about the life of a boring guy who happens to meet a girl under a sort of strange circumstance (like most anime.)
One problem with me writing though is that I never finish them, and that I only share them amongst my friends, but that can change ^^

I've written a few in the past but only have one that I've actually finished.

I've been a hardcore fanfic reader for around a decade now, and gotta say I still do as much as the beginning. I've written a few fanfics, but writing and story-making are not my forte, so I rarely make my foolish plots a reality through fanfics ^^U
I should keep up at least for the people who are willing to follow my irregular unfaithful bottom of a writer...

Looks like anyone that wrote fanfics have the same problem: never had the chance to finish them :3
