MG RX0 Gundam - Unicorn Mode
Hi there,
Been a while since I last posted. Didn't really have time to work on gunplas since last year, but finally decided to set some time create a companion for the Sinanju I built earlier.
This is basically an OOB build, but due to my impatience this time, it's filled with quite a bit of ugly nub marks... haih. Didn't cover seamlines... no panel marking was done... **hides face**
Thank heavens for water slide decals... Katoki is mad to design this MG with so many markings the size smaller than a grain of rice... LOL.
Destroy mode pics will follow shortly once I sort out the transformation ;)

Nice and clean build. I like it. Congrats!
Yo... thx man!
I don't know if it is your style bro but do you plan to modify the color of this gundam? The color design of the gundam itself looks so... (no offense to the creators) plain white and boring. Hehehe. Glad you did a good paint job on the blue, black, and gold parts. Did you also paint the white parts?
Yeah bro... I painted the white parts with pearl white... but it doesn't seem to show up in the above pics... LOL. I originally wanted to go with the Banshee color scheme... but decided not to as I realized I'm unable to scratchbuild the elaborate v-fin; and the default decals may not be prominent enough when placed on the black paintwork.
I see, so that's why it is still in the original color scheme. Do you use a primer when painting the parts or direct paint on the plastic? I see you did a silver leaf primer for Sinanju, but you did not mention any primer for this one or the Avalanche Exia.
Nope. I did not use primer on the Unicorn; direct to plastic. For the sinanju, I didn't actually use the silver leaf as primer. I had to lay down a layer of reflective silver as a base coat, as the next layer, clear red, was translucent in color, to give that glossy metallic look some depth.
I see. Most tutorials require primer, then gloss black, then Silver leaf, the 3x clear red. You really make it simple and I'm glad that it works out. :) I'd try your steps for simplicity. :)
Good luck bro ;)
