And a little disappointed but it was to be expected...

Posted by psyche [www]

So i just received my Saber armor and Rin Tohsaka yesterday in the mail, ordered them last Wednesday, a long with a di stage (still MIA at the moment-different seller) and i was quite excited.

And a little disappointed but it was to be expected...

So when i got the two i was quite excited as stated, both were in great condition

Mouseover = load notes.
And a little disappointed but it was to be expected...

I had trouble getting the peg to go into the opening in the back, but it finally went in but i find that her joints are some what loose? I don't know more of easily movable, but it still manages to retain it's pose without it being flimsy

Mouseover = load notes.
And a little disappointed but it was to be expected...

So i have four now, i'm skipping out on lily and the unlimited blade works version (not sure on that) but i do plan on getting Saber alter. Anyways about Rin...

Mouseover = load notes.
And a little disappointed but it was to be expected...

It's not the detailing, which could be a bit better, but it's understandable as it is a massed produced figure and there are going to be some discrepancy, but that's not it

Mouseover = load notes.
And a little disappointed but it was to be expected...

one of her twin tails broke, but i managed to fix it right away. A little disappointed but it was expected as i have seen this many time with other people's twin tailed figures. but i got lucky 1 out of 3 is pretty good. Until next time

    Ouch the paintjob on the ribbons looks nasty. I'm sorry this had to happen to you.

    I'm starting to think I'm just being lucky.

      I guess everyone can't be lucky all the time, but after 17 figmas, i think i've been pretty lucky

    wow sad on rin but i heard from my friend that there r a a few bootleg rins that have bad paintjob and they look 90% alike to the real rins becareful. why do tails break so easy but my fate figma tails r very hard to break.

      I'm not sure on that since i own two kagamis and i had no trouble with them what so ever, i can however understand that since she is a bit older than the rest that it will stick, the other tail is fine however.

    Indeed, are you positive that they are not bootlegs?

      No, i bought her from a reputable store in the U.S. and it even has the sticker, the plastic wrappings, even a AAA anime seal. So i don't think that it could be a bootleg

    The twin tails breaking is understandable but the painting is not, wonder about the bootleg thing too you might want to check around for pictures and maybe avoid buying from the seller in the future, I've seen many bootleg figure comparison at myfigurecollection.com

      It's too small of a detail for me to notice and care about, so far the only figure that i have and do not like the type of paint is my revoltech eva unit 4 as the paint is some what different as it is a metallic color and it sticks between the swivel joints

        Actually the majority of my eff'd up paint figs are revoltechs they always have at least a bit of off paint

    Not sure about the Rin, but her hair are different tons of color. Plus the paint job for it to come off like that? i washed my figmas a lotta times on my pic taking session outdoors. Paint always stayed on.

    That's quite bad. Rin was my 1st figma & nothing was wrong with her.

    The thing that I don't like ordering online is that you're not sure about the product. I buy my Saber Armored Figma in a trusted store, so I'll have time to check my purchased product for any discrepancy & I can dispute right away before going home.

      Yeah that's true since i avoid ordering from e-bay (too many bootlegs plus no pay-pal account) or shady sites, but you do find those odd ball site that has them in stock and they're official products (still on the pricey side though)

    This is exactly why I will not buy Figma. I have not really purchased one that did not have joint or paint issues. (-_-;;

      This really is my first with a problem as big as this though, so they've been a really good company to me so far, it's only the type of joint they use for the hair that i don't like since they tend to stick or break easily with the exception of miku's, but that's a regular figma joint though -_-"

    Getting Saber's stand in was tricky for me until I realized that her chest armor was moving somewhat independently from her actual chest--if you sort of brace it into position so the two holes are lined up, it's much easier to get the stand in.

    Bummer about the pigtails. Since it's on the same one as the paint problem, it makes me wonder if something was wrong that caused both issues, like a bad batch of plastic or something.

      Yeah i managed to get the stand to actually go in, that chest plate really makes it hard, but it is good to know that it isn't glued on or part of the sculpt as that show how much detailing they put into their figures.

        Oh yeah i think i may have had one of the figures in the bad batch, but it's not so much of an issue for the paint, only the type of plastic for the ball
