I don't think this has been mentioned yet, and I'm not sure if it's allowed but I felt compelled to post something anyways..

While listening to the Samurai Champloo soundtrack today in which Nujabes produced many beautiful tracks, I came across an article on ANN that stated that the 36 year old Japanese underground hip-hop producer had died in a fatal car accident on February 26th of this year. This news came as a complete shock to me as Nujabes has been one of the most unique and influential producers/ DJs in the underground hip-hop scene this past decade. I first discovered his music about two years ago when I watched Samurai Champloo for the first time and was immediately enchanted by his soulful and romantic jazz melodies. He had released 3 albums prior to working on Champloo, Hydeout Productions 1st Collection, Metaphorical Music, and Modal Soul as well as another album and compilation albums after Champloo. I'm certain he will be sorely missed by everyone who has ever been touched by his music. Rapper and friend, Shing02, made a post on his website paying condolences to Nujabes where his fans can also leave comments here: http://e22.com/nujabes/
I'm really going to miss him and all of the beautiful music he brought into this world. Samurai Champloo and hip-hop in general wouldn't be the same without him.

OMG. No! Nujabes was awesome. This news is shocking to me. He's the producer who introduced me to the beauty of hip hop. He'll be sorely missed. He was an influence to me. And I don't think anyone will be able to pull off his style of hip-hop music.
Damn. Just recently got a handful of his albums too. Like you I fell in love with the music on Champloo. RIP.

I offer my silence in respect for the man.

OH what.. Man. Bummer. He'll definitely be missed. I absolutely love his music. Inspiring, Relaxing, and more importantly, Enjoyable. Rest in Peace Jun.
I read the news in February, but I didn't make the connection ! Oh No.... Thanks for this information.
But now I feel a little sad that he's gone. Such great talent has left us. Let's enjoy his precious work from his relatively brief life here on Earth. May he Rest In Peace.
A car crash.... I suppose there are worse ways, more shameful ays, to die. But I would have rather he hadn't so soon: his talent will be sorely missed.
