Not a new scale so much as it is a new grade, and a very interesting one indeed. From what we can see already, It seems to have an inner articulation frame (not the detail frames like MGs) for all parts of the body (although only the torso is shown in the CAD drawings, you can see from the runners that the arms and legs will have similar technology to the MG RX-78 Ver. 1.5's legs), and details similar to MG/HGUC quality, at the price of a HG. Very interesting indeed; I can't wait to see what mobile suits will be rolled out under this product line next (Strike, Unicorn, maybe even a V2?).
Worthless. New HG kits have mobility far surpassing most MG kits so creating HG with pitiful MG style frames is simply useless. MG kits have the size required to cram the details into them with the added charm that their inner frames are indeed the actual inner frames the machine would use if it were real. This seems like a plot for extra mobility with the details cut away. HG kits sell on price mostly. This is a HG at the price of a 1/100 kit with a rather useless frame. Excuse me if I cling to my 1000 yen cheaper and more mobile HG kits.
Although I can't entirely agree with your opinion, I suppose we're all entitled to our own. However, there's no denying that this will most likely out-do the HG RX-78-2 Ver. G30th , as the Ver. G30th did to the HGUC RX-78. Although, I suppose only time will tell if this line will be a success or not... And, of course, whether we think that the price is worth it(SHCM-PRO Unicorn for 9,800 Yen? Seriously?).
seems they're experimenting on making a model kit by making a posable "general use" frame that would accomodate any if not most MS designs (rx-78, gm, etc.).
the last time something similar like that was the 1/144 series from V gundam kits.
Oh boy, this will superseded the High Grade series in the future!
HG 1/144 with an inner frame?
Interesting.

I swear other variation will follow up next by Bandai's milking scheme^^;
I can see the future of bandai's milking scheme...and it will include the red frame for example...the possibilities are endless.
ok....so they release this a couple months just after i bought the HG 1/144 30th anniversary RX-78...
Want! I love the smaller scales and this looks like an interesting kit.
