HG Gundam Exia Photoshoot

Posted by Flawless EXA [www]

I took these photos quite a while ago but didn’t had time to filter the photos. This HG Exia was what bought me back into gunpla and it was my 1st gunpla in about 3 years. It was also my 1st time painting, panel-lining and actually putting work into my gunpla. This guy took 3 weeks to finish.

He is about 1 & a half years old now and I handled him quite a bit. There are paint falling off here and there, I repainted some parts of blue but didn’t sand it down 1st so it’s not perfectly smooth. I say that I did a pretty good job for my 1st effort. ^ ^

As some of you may have noticed, the beam sabers are gone. They were placed at inconvenient places and I superglued them back a few times already. Speaking of the beam saber, I made it pink but sunlight made it glow, awesome right?

      I used a matte coat, which to my surprise, attracts dirt and becomes very apparent on white. Then handling him makes it worse. ^ ^;

      I had to sand off all the white parts, but I couldn't get all of it so that's what you see here.

    Cool painted and weathered Exia. I avoid painting my Gundam model kits in fear of screwing it up. And thumbs up on the sun lighting up the beam saber heh.

      You shouldn't be scared of screwing up. The results are really nice and definitely worth a try.

    Good job for a first effort. I haven't done airbrushing for a while and I have no idea what kind of difficulty I will run into when I airbrush my HG Seravee Gundam....
