MG Astray Blue Frame.. metallized..!

Posted by demonbell

hi guys..! finally done, been slaving on it for 3 months, didn't realize how much work it required til i finished sanding all the blue parts.. fumbling and a few broken parts made the process even longer.. and masking, i tell you it's the biggest pain in the neck - 'masking hell' as one modeler puts it.. i think i'm happy how it turned out after all, a lil' too shiny i guess.. i know many modelers dislike gloss and they do mods in matte finish that look really good but i couldn't get flat top coat to match the paints i'm using.. maybe next time i'll try model kit paints on my old mgs.. anyway hope you like what you see, any remarks appreciated.. photos by my good friend marcute.. ^^

colors i used were named mica blue, mica white, then i mixed it around with silver and gloss black.. silver was too glittery and rough so killed it a little with mica white (it has this pearly characteristic) then shaded the corners and edges with a lil dark gray (gloss black + mica white) and that's about it.. thanks..!!
