Arm your girls with Trumpeter!

Posted by spark90

The chinese company Trumpeter will be releasing a set of vietnam-era rifles in 1/3 scale. They are of the Armalite M-16 family consisting of an XM177E1 and an M16A1 with 3 pronged flash hider. It appears that the handguards can be removed and that the barrel does include a realistic gas tube. The upper and lower receiver seem to be separate parts, while the XM177E1 appears to have a collapsible buttstock(as to how far it can extend in and out, is to be determined) However it does not seem that these models will have working actions like the Dragon 1/3 scale firearm series.

Look for it around April or May.

One thing about the M-14 is it doesn't quite fit in the dollfie gun hands without a bit of contortion. Most firearms with pistol grips like the M-16 will fit well because of the way the gun holding hand is designed.

But I don't think we could ever have enough dollfies with guns...Someone's gotta protect the house while I'm away!

Trumpeter models are actually of very good quality, quite a few people from my local IPMS chapter prefer them. That and Trumpeter also offers kits in larger scales than most model companies.

About time someone other than Dragon got the hint.

I don't collect Dollfies, but I hope that the next 1/3 gun in Trumpeter's list will be one of the QBZ-series bullpup rifles that are currently in service among the Red Chinese Army.

...who knows, maybe they'll make a 1/3 Bushmaster ACR, and you;'ll have a Dollfie cosplaying as a character from Modern Warfare 2...

Yeah those measurements threw me off, maybe that's a different set of dimensions for something else.

Here's the dimensions of the model gun fully built:
Model Brief Length: 267.56mm Width: 88.5mm

So it's about a foot long...
