An audience with Danny Choo – SOAS 13.04.10
Wow what an evening. Yesterday Danny was at the SOAS giving a talk on “Creative Industries in Japan”, the talk was mainly composed of a recollection of Danny’s journey from growing up in plain old Hackney, to becoming the internationally recognised Stormtrooping CEO that he is today.
All but 2 photos in this post were taken by the ever talented Kriss

Danny shows us that he's the man

The lecture hall was in the Brunei Gallery to the left

There were many alumni and over 100 DC comrades turned up

Meeting Danny was definitely the highlight of the evening for me. The fact that he took the time to talk to every single person individually for a good few minutes was really awesome and his comments were nothing short of inspiring. When I told him that I want to live and work in Japan in the future he told me I was already on the way there after having grabbed his face mask ^^

A great custom paint job of a figure from the famous "Densha Otoko"

This woman had two absolutely lovely daughters

Back of secret package

mmm... smells like anime girlies

Danny announced that all this loot he had brought was for us but he didn’t know how to give it to us. And so he said we could just come and get them… Madness ensued as everyone charged on stage to grab some goods.

Fellow DC comrade AMGitsKriss managed to grab a special Danny Choo lanyard

And this my friends was the fruit of my efforts. A Danny Choo used facemask ^^

Danny was just as hilarious in person as he is online and the way he handled all the technical failures during the talk was brilliant.

One of the things Danny was talking about was “the comfort zone” which is to say the point you reach when your job no longer feels challenging, the salary is acceptable and you aren’t really advancing anywhere in life anymore. Danny mentioned just how dangerous this was and how in the past he changed jobs quite a few times to keep advancing and challenge himself so that one he’d be able to look back on everything he has done and feel like he has achieved something.

So glad that Danny signed my copy of the "Otaku Encyclopedia", even if he spelt my name wrong at first ^^

Really grateful to Danny for giving his card to a mere 14 year old boy

Last but not least...
"They were this big!"

The photo of the business card isn't mine.. And I think I should have found the bother to give you the images with improved quality... You're making me look bad :P
Fix'd.
LOL at the last photo XD! What I really like about Danny is he isn't afraid to goof around LOL
Hehehe must grab!
Danny's a really cool guy ! I met the CEO of our company, and I wish I could say the same. Itd awesome to meet Danny one time !
It's really amazing just how genuine Danny is and just how inspirational he is in person. I really recommend meeting up with him one day ^^
Im pretty sure, Mina isnt from Otaku no Video. if anything she first appeared in the Densha Otoko tv show.
Bleh sorry, looks like I mixed the names up >_<
Nya~! He's wearing it inside-out!
I hope I get to meet Danny when I'm on vacation next week in Tokyo. He's so busy now and when he's going to be at an event, it seems like there is next to no warning so his comrades can catch up to him.
Look like a real little man XD
Dont know why but last pic doesnt look good. Lol XD
Mhhh This person kinder looks like me. Is that strange.
Strange...that's me.
Maybe we were twins seperated at birth XD
Loooll If that was true I would be like to our parants "WTF you said my twin died". Still would be a bit freaky but kinda cool all at the same time.
